Non-Profit Spotlight: Leading with Legacy – The Heart Project

Leading with Legacy – The Heart Project is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to a holistic approach to heart health. Inspired by the loving spirit and service-oriented life of the founder's mother, this initiative aims to extend the concept of heart health beyond physical well-being to include emotional and community support.

Our Mission

The mission of Leading with Legacy – The Heart Project is encapsulated in our motto: "Preserving the Past, Empowering the Future; Leaving a Heart-Healthy Legacy." We believe that maintaining a healthy heart transcends diet and exercise. It involves nurturing emotional connections and fostering a supportive community. This approach honors those we've lost, such as the founder's mother, while committing to future generations by promoting a life rich in emotional and physical well-being.

Championing Heart Health

At Leading with Legacy, we champion heart health in all its forms. We recognize the power of community to enhance both physical and emotional heart health. Our organization is a testament to the belief that heart health is not just about avoiding disease but about cultivating warmth, emotional bonds, and support networks that enrich our lives.

Mark your calendars for September 14th, 2024, as we host The Heart Project's 2nd Annual Pickleball Invitational. This event will take place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at Main Park, 300 Locust Street, Windsor, CO. Last year, the event brought together over 60 players and fifteen local businesses, creating a vibrant community spirit. We anticipate even greater participation this year.

Fundraising Purpose

The funds raised from the event will support various vital initiatives:

- Heart Health Scans and Labs: Providing six months of free heart health scans and lab tests through our partnership with Hometown Family Health.

- Emergency Assistance Fund: Offering financial aid for urgent medical expenses related to stroke or heart health.

- Counseling Support: Giving access to a database of recommended counseling centers and financial assistance for counseling services.

- Nutritionist Support: Assisting individuals affected by strokes, caretakers, and those with heart health complications with access to nutritionists.

These programs weave the threads of community and connection, inviting everyone to cherish and care for their hearts by recognizing the intricate link between emotional well-being and physical health.

Join Us in Our Mission

Honoring our hearts is more than just remembering those we've lost; it's about laying the foundations for a healthier, more connected future. Together, we can build a world where every heart beats strong, supported by love and community.
