Family Members Full Names: Colin Nelson, Layne Nelson, Juliana Nelson.

City of Residence: Milliken, Northern Colorado

Pets: Frank

Family Members' Professions: Layne is a first responder and Colin works in technical support.

Activities/Hobbies: Going for hikes and walks, reading books and going to the library, having game nights with our friends, watching sports and cheering on the Colorado Avalanche, and white water rafting.


Favorite Park/Play Area: Barnes and Noble or the library.

Favorite Restaurants: Melting pot, Santiago’s, Mary’s Mountain Cookies.

Favorite Vacation Destinations: Anywhere in the mountains and Italy!

Favorite Sports Teams: Colorado Avalanche and the 49ers!

Favorite TV Shows/Movies: Lilo and Stitch (Juliana), The Bachelor, and any comedy movies!

Favorite Music: Country, pop, and 80s rock.

Favorite Family Dinners: Hello Fresh, pizza, burritos, and BBQ.

Favorite Part About Living in the Neighborhood: Our favorite part about living in our neighborhood is our community. Our neighbors are now family and everyone is so welcoming. We love the small town feel the community still has and all of the community events for our family to be involved in.


Family Traditions: Homemade ravioli during Christmas time.

Educational Background: Layne attended Colorado State University and Colin attended UNC.

Origin: We are both originally from Castle Rock, born and raised. We met in seventh grade and reconnected during our senior year of college.

Years in the Neighborhood: We have lived in our neighborhood for almost three years now.

Relaxation Activities: We like to read books as a family and cook dinners together. We also like to make it a point to go on vacation once a year to help us decompress.

Community Involvement: We love to support our local businesses like Goobers Ice Cream. Beef N Bean day is one of our favorite events to attend as well as the local farmers market. Our neighborhood is also very involved together with neighborhood events and having fire pits in our cul-de-sac.

Kids' Activities: We just had our newborn in January and we look forward to supporting her in whatever sports or activities she wants to explore!
